Bit Serenity Studios
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 21, 2026 · Applies to: Cozy Coffee Merge
The short version: Cozy Coffee Merge is a free game supported by ads, with optional online features. Most of your progress stays on your device. When you post a score to the "Daily Brew" global leaderboard, we save your chosen public Barista name, your score, and the level reached to a database we operate. The game shows ads served by Google AdMob. We do not sell your data to data brokers. See below for the details, your choices, and how to reach us.
Who we are
Bit Serenity Studios LLC ("Bit Serenity," "we," "us") is a game studio registered in Colorado, United States. This policy explains how our mobile game Cozy Coffee Merge (the "Game") handles information.
Information we collect
Stored on your device
Your game progress, settings, and preferences are stored on your device. To let you keep your progress across devices and reinstalls, the Game may also save and sync this data through your own Apple or Google account, using platform services such as Apple Game Center, iCloud, Google Play Games, and your device's backup features. That data lives in your Apple or Google account, not with us.
Sent to our leaderboard servers
Cozy Coffee Merge has an optional online leaderboard called Daily Brew. When you submit a score to the Daily Brew, the following is transmitted to and stored in a database we operate on Supabase (a hosted database platform):
- Your chosen Barista name: a short public display name you enter in the game. This is shown to other players worldwide next to your scores on the leaderboard.
- Your score, the level reached, and the timestamp of the submission.
- An anonymous device identifier the Game generates. We use it only to detect duplicate submissions and to help prevent leaderboard manipulation. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, Apple ID, or Google account.
You choose whether to submit scores. If you play offline or skip the leaderboard, none of this data is sent.
Handled by advertising and app-store services
- Ads: the Game shows ads served through Google AdMob, which uses the device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) to serve ads and measure their performance. Whether those ads are personalized depends on your device settings and your response to Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you opt out, you still see ads, but they are not personalized to you.
- In-app purchases: if the Game offers optional in-app purchases, payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment details. Your purchase history is recorded in your Apple or Google account and is handled by the platform under its own privacy policy.
- Crash and diagnostic reports: Apple and Google provide developers, by default, aggregate crash and performance statistics for their platforms (Apple App Analytics, Google Play Console). This information is aggregate and not linked to your identity by us.
If you email us
If you email us for support, we receive whatever you write and any information your email client includes (such as your email address). We use it only to reply and, if relevant, to keep a record of the conversation.
Public information on the leaderboard
Your Barista name and your score are public on the Daily Brew leaderboard when you submit them. Any player who opens the leaderboard can see them. Choose a Barista name you are comfortable making public. Do not use your real name, email address, phone number, home town, or other personal information as your Barista name; the Game does not require any of these.
The Game applies a profanity filter to Barista names at submission. We reserve the right to remove or rename any Barista name that violates our community standards (see the Terms of Service). To report an offensive Barista name, or to request removal of your own leaderboard entry, email contact@bitserenitystudios.com with "Leaderboard report" or "Delete my entry" in the subject line; we aim to respond within two business days.
Our servers and third parties
Cozy Coffee Merge relies on the following third parties:
- Supabase, Inc. hosts the Daily Brew leaderboard database on our behalf. Barista names, scores, level, timestamps, and the anonymous device identifier described above are stored there. Supabase's privacy policy is at supabase.com/privacy.
- Google AdMob serves ads in the Game. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy, and AdMob's ad-technology providers are listed at support.google.com/admob.
- Apple StoreKit and Google Play Billing handle in-app purchases, if offered. Governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
- Apple App Analytics and Google Play Console provide the aggregate game usage that Apple and Google give to developers by default.
How we use this data
- To display leaderboard rankings inside the Game.
- To detect duplicate submissions and reduce leaderboard manipulation.
- To serve ads through Google AdMob and measure their performance. This is how the Game is funded.
- To process in-app purchases through Apple and Google, if offered.
- To respond to your support requests and leaderboard reports.
- To comply with legal obligations.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data to data brokers, resellers, or third parties for their own marketing.
- We do not share your Barista name, score, or support conversations with advertisers.
- We do not attempt to identify individual players from the anonymous device identifier.
- We do not personalize ads for players who opt out via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt or Android's ad-personalization setting.
Your rights and choices
You control what leaves your device. In particular:
- Don't submit scores if you don't want any data sent to our leaderboard servers.
- Change your Barista name at any time in the Game's settings; new submissions use the new name.
- Delete a leaderboard entry: email contact@bitserenitystudios.com with "Delete my entry" in the subject line and the Barista name and approximate date. We will remove matching entries.
- Opt out of personalized ads on iOS by answering "Ask App Not to Track" to the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. On Android, open Settings › Google › Ads and turn on "Opt out of Ads Personalization," or reset your advertising ID. Opting out does not remove ads; it only stops them from being personalized to you.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR (EEA, UK, Switzerland), the CCPA / CPRA (California), the Colorado Privacy Act, or similar laws: to know what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to obtain a copy, to opt out of "sale" or "sharing," and to appeal our decisions. To exercise any of these, email us with "Privacy Request" in the subject line.
Children's privacy
Cozy Coffee Merge is not directed to children under 13. It shows ads and offers a public online leaderboard with user-generated content, and it is not appropriate for a child audience. If we learn that a user under 13 has provided us information (for example, submitted a Barista name), we will remove that information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted information, email contact@bitserenitystudios.com and we will delete it promptly.
Data retention
Leaderboard entries are retained as long as the leaderboard runs, subject to your right to request deletion of your own entry at any time. Support-email correspondence is retained as long as needed to resolve your request. Aggregate, anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely.
International data transfers
Bit Serenity Studios LLC is based in the United States. Supabase, Google, and Apple may process data in the United States and, in some cases, other countries. Where required, transfers rely on the applicable legal mechanisms (for example, Standard Contractual Clauses).
Security
We keep systems patched, use strong authentication for administrative access, and limit access to leaderboard data to what is needed to operate the leaderboard. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices change, we will update this policy and change the effective date at the top of this page before those practices take effect. For significant changes to how we handle data in the Game, we will also notify players in-app.
